Philip Anderson
You may ask yourself "well how did I get here?"
They asked that I put together a biography on myself. I guess it’s
really an autobiography. A profile if you will- it’s almost like
Match.com (no emails please- I’m married)… Just so long as I’m not
misquoted…
So what does a guy with a humble background and nothing else better
to do at the moment, write about himself? Well, I’m 6 ft, brown eyes…
I came to RiverHead eight years ago. I had been in the car business
for five years and looked at it as a step toward legitimacy for me.
I guess that it was… I had absolutely no idea what I was going to be
doing or what RiverHead Training trained. I had messed around with
mem-maker on my old 386 to better run my X-Wing game and had even
installed a 14.4 modem. I really thought that I was super-geek and
prepared to sell Word level 1 classes to my heart’s content. Big
mistake. We didn’t sell Word classes, I had never heard of Novell and
quickly realized that I couldn’t spell SQL. After a painful year or
so to get my bearings, some outpatient counseling to forget about my
car days and a bunch of A+ and NT 4.0 evening classes, I was off.
I started out as an account executive which is where I really got to
know a lot of you. Then a careless interoffice email that I wrote
with too much time on my hands and a chip on my shoulder, ended up
in the wrong hands. I was "elected" to write the monthly newsletter
(special thanks to Kelly for that). Now I run the sales department,
write my newsletter and work with the education, healthcare and
non-profit accounts.
Then there’s my personal life. As I mentioned before, I’m married for
about two years and my wife and I are currently expecting our first
children, identical twin girls in the fall!!! Right now my hobbies
consist of waiting on my poor wife and building a nursery.
Thanks for listening- let’s talk again soon.
